The Istvan Moritz ’15 Memorial Scholarship Program funds the following awards for eligible applicants

Outstanding Achievement Award

Purpose:

The Istvan Moritz ’15 Outstanding Achievement Scholarship was establish to recognize a Phi Sigma Kappa brother who, like Istvan, has  embodied the ideals of true fraternity and has accomplished outstanding achievements in the areas of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Character.  The individual receiving this scholarship has made significant contributions to the Brotherhood of Phi Sigma Kappa at RPI; expresses a passion for lifelong learning and academic excellence in their field of studies; and is a role model for others to follow in making their community a better place for all people to live, learn and work.

Amount: $1,000
Eligibility:

The Istvan Moritz ’15 Outstanding Achievement Scholarship may be awarded to any active student member of the Gamma Tetarton chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa currently enrolled at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Undergraduates and Graduate students must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average. The scholarship will be awarded based on the overall quality of the applicant’s credentials.

Applications Due:

Applications must be received no later than Sept. 15th in order to be considered for scholarships to be awarded in October.  Nominations forms must be sent to:

Most Improved GPA Award

A+ grade written on a test paper.
Purpose:

The most improved GPA award is given to an eligible student member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity at RPI in recognition of their improved academic performance in a given year. It embodies Istvan’s never ending quest for knowledge and self improvement.

Amount: $1,000
Eligibility:

Any activity brother in good standing is automatically eligible for the award.  There is no application needed for this award.  The chapters scholarship chair determines the winner of this award upon reviewing the chapters grade report from RPI.  The award is given to the brother with the most improved GPA between 2 consecutive semesters.
